Uri Shafir

Uri Shafir was born in 1983 and is an actor, dancer, and performance maker.  He graduated from Alon High School of Arts and MASPA (Matteh Asher School of Performing Arts) in Kibbutz Ga’aton.

As an actor, Uri participated in different plays in Israeli theatres such as Habima Theatre, Beit Lessin Theatre, and independent fringe productions. As a dancer, he worked in Batsheva Ensemble (2007-2010) and with various Israeli choreographers: Yasmeen Godder, Niv Sheinfeld & Oren Laor, Dana Ruttenberg, Renana Raz, and Maya Levy & Anando Mars.

As a choreographer/performance maker, he created in different platforms in Israel such as Macholohet festival, New Dance Festival (Hazira), and more.

Uri teaches Gaga and Ohad Naharin’s repertory in Israel and abroad.
