Maja Štefančíková

Maja Štefančíková is a visual artist, performer, and teacher based in Bratislava. Her work explores performative situations in which voice, movement, and attention become tools for examining relationships between human and nonhuman bodies. She often works with subtle choreographies and live compositions that remain open to interruption, chance, and the presence of others. Her projects have been presented internationally, including at the National Gallery in Prague and in the context of the Pavilion of the Czech and Slovak Republics at the 60th Venice Biennale. She is an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, where she leads the Performance Laboratory.
